Hibs’ striker Florian Kamberi’s time at Easter Road looks to be coming to an end after Rangers offered to take him back on loan for the forthcoming season with Greg Docherty going in the opposite direction.

The former Grasshoppers player is going into the final year of his contract however and sees no benefit in going out on loan again and he wants a permanent deal.

It now remains to be seen whether Rangers are prepared to commit to that.

Although only scoring once in nine games for the Ibrox side during his loan-spell last season, the fans saw enough to convince them that he has the talent to be a success in Glasgow.

Kamberi would be keen to return to Rangers on a full-time basis and would be eligible for their outstanding Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

Hibs’ Head Coach Jack Ross hasn’t ruled out him playing for the club again but that now appears unlikely.

Hibs are keen to recoup the £100,000 that Neil Lennon paid for him.

Kamberi has no shortage of options with clubs back in Switzerland as well as Hull City and Polish side Lech Poznan believed to be interested.
