Angling Scotland are currently updating guidance management on the return of the sport in line with the Scottish Government’s phased approach.

Gus Brindle, one of the board members, is involved and he is also producing draft guidance for the safe resumption of coaching.

He revealed that draft guidance for the safe resumption of charter boat activity has not yet been approved.

Fife-based Brindle (pictured) added: “We have been approached by several individuals and skippers who are desperate to be able to get this sector of the industry restarted.

“Unlike the competitive angling guidance which goes through sportscotland, the Charter Boat Guidance has to be staffed through Marine Scotland Fisheries department. We are hoping to receive approval soon.”
