THOR’S Tipi Bar is a Christmas pop-up bar with a difference and is officially now open.
This is the bar on Waverley Mall’s rooftop event space. It plays on a Viking heritage and hopes to be a novel experience for Christmas shoppers, visitors and families alike.
Asset Manager of Waverley Mall, David Waterworth said: “We are extremely pleased to work together with THOR’S tipi bar as a fantastic addition to this year’s festivities.
“The location is right in the heart of the city centre with such fantastic travel links for visitors and locals of Edinburgh. This brand new pop up from Thor’s tipi bar will continue to provide a very current and relevant offering to our customers throughout the festive period and is perfect for our overall vision we are striving to achieve for our rooftop area here at Waverley Mall.”
Two canvas tipis form the bar. They are festooned with lighting and decked out with wooden tables and benches, cosy furs and a real fire pit, around which customers can soak up the Viking hygge.
The drinks menu offers something for everyone. Hot and cold cocktails with a Christmas twist, beers from around the world and local ales and stouts are all available. An extensive wine list, soft drinks and a non-alcoholic selection can also be discovered whilst festive favourites such as mulled wine, hot chocolate, teas and coffees will ensure there is something to warm everyone up

In addition to Edinburgh, THOR’S tipi bars will be popping up in other cities including York, Leeds, Sheffield, Lincoln, London and Nottingham over the Christmas season.
THOR’S tipi bar is plastic-friendly and uses poly-carbonate reusable plastics.
THOR’S tipi bar will be open from 10:00am until 10.00pm daily from 19 November to 4 January 2019 (closed Christmas Day and at 6.00pm on Hogmanay).
