People’s Postcode Lottery are funding the training of a litter of nine dogs to be trained as Guide Dogs to aid some of the 170,000 people in Scotland suffering from sight loss.

With the number of Scots suffering from sight loss expected to rise to around 200,000 by 2025, there is an increasing demand for guide dogs. Lottie and her sister Bella are often in attendance at  Guide Dog puppy classes where their basic training will really begin.

When the dogs reach the age of one they will be transferred to Guide Dogs Training School in Forfar where after a further two years she will be changing somebodies life.

Donna Beetham, national corporate partnerships manager at Guide Dogs said: “It costs more than £55,000 to breed and train a young puppy to become a fully confident guide dog – to help someone with sight loss to have the confidence and support they need to live independently. Thank you players, for supporting our life-changing work”.
