Shaun Purll is a decorated veteran who chose the Erskine home in Gilmerton for some respite care.
Erskine has homes in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bishopton and supports nearly 1,000 veterans every year.
When asked about Mr Purll’s stay, a volunteer from the Armed Forces charity SSAFA (previously Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) Andy Middlemiss (who helped Mr Purll get his place) said:“SSAFA was proud to be able to make this respite care possible. Shaun is a special man- funny, twinkly and so worthy of our help. I love our chats together.
“His family are wonderful, loving people too, who also deserve a boost. Erskine Edinburgh staff looked after Shaun fantastically well, and we are really grateful to them. Thank you isn’t strong enough…but Thank You Erskine”.
When asked about Mr Purll, Erskine Edinburgh Home Manager Alison Payne said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to meet and care for Mr Purll and although we hope he is feeling better now, we would warmly welcome him back any time as staff loved seeing his smile and enjoyed his sense of humour. “
