Spokes, the Lothian Cycle Campaign will host their Spring Public Meeting on the subject of Climate, Transport and Cycling next week.
According to the UK Committee on Climate Change transport now accounts for 37% of Scotland’s climate emissions and that figure is rising.
Those attending will have the chance to both hear and debate experts on the issue. Chaired by Elizabeth Bomberg, Professor of Environmental Politics at University of Edinburgh, the event will first feature ten-minute presentations from speakers Claudia Beamish MSP (Labour Environment and Climate spokesperson), Alex Luetchford (2050 Climate Group Co-Chair of the Policy Sub-Group), Dave Gorman (Head of Edinburgh University of Social Responsibility and Sustainability) and Caroline Rance (Friends of The Earth Scotland Campaigner).
The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
Participants are encouraged to come early at 6.45 for coffee, stalls and a chat. Spokes are also encouraged to retweet their tweet about the event as well as tweeting #SpokesMtg during the event.
