Hibernian Head Coach Grant Scott (pictured right) insists that his players will not be taking SWPL2 champions Motherwell lightly come kick-off and knows they will have to work hard to claim the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup at Firhill tomorrow.

Hibs are favourites to claim the trophy for a third year running, but Scott believes that his players will show Motherwell the utmost respect.

Scott told Hibernian Media: “Winning the trophy is one thing, but the accolade of having three in a row is terrific for the players and is a real mark of their consistency over the time period.

“It’s another great advert for Scottish women’s football. I think there will be two good teams on Sunday, it should be a great match, the pitch looks absolutely terrific and it just builds up the excitement for going to Firhill on Sunday.

“We’re all looking forward to the match and hoping to win.”

“There won’t be any thoughts that we will walk into this final and win. I’m fortunate that the players that I have got won’t be taking that approach.

“We always prepare and go into the matches respecting our opponents. We are a team that are fortunate to be favourites going into a lot of our fixtures, so that’s something we’re used to managing.

“The preparation is no different. There will be consistency through the week, the same messages that we try to get through to the girls and the same approach come matchday.

“We know a few of the players and we have to be very careful in our preparation and that we don’t underestimate this team coming from SWPL 2. Promotion has proved that they are an SWPL 1 club, and certainly so are the team on the pitch.

“We will have to do everything in our power to win the match.”

The SSE Scottish Women’s Cup Final takes place on Sunday 4 November at Firhill Stadium and kicks off at 4:10pm. Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £2 for concessions, with under-16s being admitted free of charge.
