Penicuik First hold their annual meeting on Wednesday, June 13, and local businesses are urged to come along.

Pauline Archibald of Headcases hairdressers in Penicuik confirmed that the meeting will be in The Gin Pod at The Craigie in Bog Road at 6pm.

The event is being sponsored by the hotel which re-opened in November after a £2m facelift.

Pauline said: “The meeting is for all businesses who contribute to Penicuik First.

“We will put them in the picture about what has been achieved in the past three years and how we take the bid forward for the next two years.”

She added: “We’re looking to get as many businesses on board as we can to make the best use of the money and to make Penicuik look good.”

Pauline said that she had been around the town handing out invitations to the event and the response has been encouraging.

She added: “We have received positive feedback so, hopefully, we will get extra people coming along on the night.

“It is essential that local businessmen and women contribute and Penicuik First needs you. We need help to take this forward.”
