Elite League: Coventry Blaze 7, Dundee Stars 3; Braehead Clan 4, Milton Keynes Lightning 3; Belfast Giants 2, Fife Flyers 5.

Braehead Clan left it late but earned two valuable points in the race for the eighth and final play-off place.

The Glasgow side, who visit Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday (face-off 6pm), were 2-1 down to lowly Milton Keynes Lightning after 21 minutes but the Scots then moved 3-2 ahead before Lightning levelled at 3-3 after 38 minutes.

Adam Brace netted unassisted on the power play with 1min 7sec left to secure the win and move Clan onto 52 points from 53 fixtures.

In the Midlands, Dundee Stars’ play-off hopes suffered a real blow when they were burned 7-3 at Coventry Blaze.

The Tayside team were 2-1 ahead after 17 seconds of the middle session but they were then hit by four unanswered goals between the 27th and 36th minutes to be 5-2 down and they never recovered.

And a goal within the final four minutes from former Fife Flyers marksman Ryan Dingle ended the scoring.

Blaze now move onto 51 points from 53 games while Stars have 48 points from 52 fixtures.

In Northern Ireland, Charlie Mosey claimed a glory double as Fife Flyers claimed a shock 5-2 road win at Belfast Giants.

The result reverses an 8-4 defeat at The Fife Ice Arena on Wednesday and moves the Kirkcaldy club onto 66 points in the Elite League table.

They are now level with Giants on points and have a game in hand.

Fife had, however, to come from 1-0 down after 11 minutes and turned the game with three unanswered goals between the 14th and 30th minute.

Giants pulled one back to make it 3-2 but Mosey’s unassisted second scored short-handed and Russ Moyer’s unassisted goal with one second left secured the valuable win.
