Hearts have released details of their annual accounts to shareholders to be discussed at the club’s Annual General Meeting on 11th December. They show that Hearts have posted a profit of £2.3m even though the club has spent nearly £7m on the new main stand which opened yesterday.

The profit is largely due to what has been described as an ’exceptional personal donation’ of £2.5m from a benefactor who has not been named.

Hearts have committed another £5.9m to complete the development of Tynecastle Park.
