Edinburgh Capitals forward Mike Cazzola has committed to a two-year physiotherapy course at Queen Margaret University (QMU).
The Canadian-born player was recruited by Capitals after a successful rookie season in the ECHL in North America where he was a top point scorer for Fort Wayne Komets and also the top point scoring rookie in the ECHL.
He previously spent four years studying kinesioloby at Acadia University and, during his four seasons playing for the university, he was in the top two in scoring and was top scorer twice.
The 26-year-old centre ice has enroled on a MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) course and The School of Health Sciences at QMU provides the largest range of professional healthcare courses in Scotland.
He said: “Combining my passion for ice hockey with the chance to study physiotherapy at QMU is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Cazzola is going to busy during combining playing in the Elite League and academic work as his intensive course includes 1,000 hours of placement.
