The G&V Royal Mile Hotel Edinburgh has opened its gin terrace for the summer, and we were lucky enough to be invited along to try out some of the new cocktails last week.

This year it is partnering with Daffy’s Gin and they will offer you the classic gin and tonic and also gin-based cocktails and nibbles.

Until the end of September 2017 this will no doubt be a sought after space for a bit of quiet and refreshment.

The outdoor space will also be accessible even if it rains as Daffy’s have put up parasols to keep everyone dry.

Come rain or shine, G&V and Daffy’s Gin expert mixologists will be on hand to serve a variety of beverages at the bar, including the renowned Daffy’s ‘D&T’ and the delicious ‘G&Bees’ Spritz, a combination of Daffy’s gin, apricot brandy, orange blossom, soda and home-produced honey from G&V’s rooftop beehives.

Other highlights include the ‘Secret Manuscript’, a heady concoction that fuses Daffy’s gin with lemon, yellow chartreuse and strawberry balsamic.

If you haven’t heard of Daffy’s Gin then be assured it is Edinburgh-based and it is distilled on an ancient copper still as the brand is committed to working with other Scottish brands and designers.

Only last year the new bar Epicurean was opened with a lovely new lobby and reception area and a new menu at Cucina the hotel’s Italian restaurant.

Nightly rates at G&V Royal Mile Hotel Edinburgh start from £209 per night inclusive of breakfast. To make a reservation or for further information please contact +44 (0)131 2206666; info@gandvhotel.com; www.quorvuscollection.com/gandv-hotel-edinburgh
