Edinburgh City 0 Elgin City 3

Ladbrokes League Two, Saturday 26th August 2017 – Ainslie Park

Edinburgh City remain stuck at the bottom of Ladbrokes League Two tonight after a disappointing home defeat by Elgin City.

The game was similar in some respects to City’s opening day defeat to Montrose in that Gary Jardine’s men started well but lacked a real goalscoring threat.

Two first half goals from Lewis Strapp and Brian Cameron gave the visitors a healthy half-time lead. Former Hearts player Craig Thomson was then shown two yellow cards in three minutes in the second half and with his dismissal went any chance the home side had of rescuing the game.

Jordan Allan added a third goal for Elgin eight minutes from the end to leave Edinburgh City pointless and having scored just one goal from their opening three league games.
