FEAST Record label and music blog celebrates its 5th Birthday this weekend as part of the Annual Glow Festival. Feastival is a celebration and showcase labels two local bands, NOAH NOAH and Posable Action Figures on Friday at Sneaky Pete’s.
The FEAST label and blog was set up by HND Music Business students from Edinburgh College and has been managed by a new class each year. This year the event, part of the wider Glow Festival celebrating Edinburgh College’s celebration of Creative students, will also launch the new singles of each band.
NOAH NOAH an Edinburgh band started in 2016, are an indie/electro and who have been building a following on the Scottish music scene touring festivals and performing on BBC radio and STV. Their singles have been noted for their “feel good guitar riffs” and “sweet vocals.”
Posable Action Figures are a two piece “electrobluespoprock” and have been tipped as one of BBC Scotland’s bands to watch and are receiving airplay nationally and promise catchy, punchy tunes and an explosive live show.
Creative Industries lecturer Paul Turnbull said: “The students set up the label in 2012 and they’ve put in a lot of time and effort into finding the right bands they want to sign. Feastival also allows them the opportunity to experience putting on a live event and all the promotion and management that goes with that. The event looks set to be an excellent opportunity to catch some great local talent, as well as supporting the students.”
Feastival takes place at Sneaky Pete’s on Friday 9 June 2017. The event starts at 7:00 pm and tickets are priced £5 and are available here.
