Michal Dobron and his Edinburgh Capitals squad face a massive task on Wednesday writes Nigel Duncan.

The injury-hit squad, which anchors the ten-strong Elite League, visit fired-up, third-placed Sheffield Steelers.

The men from The House of Steel go into the game on a high after securing three points out of a possible four at second-placed Belfast Giants over two intense weekend clashes.

Steelers now have 38 points from 28 fixtures while Capitals have 19 points from the same number of games.

Edinburgh go into the game on a downer having lost 6-0 at Dundee Stars on Sunday after beating the Tayside team 3-2 at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Dobron delays naming his squad but a delighted Paul Thompson, Sheffield’s coach, said: “That was a hell of a good hockey team we have just beaten.

“Our team gave us everything and we’re looking to continue on Wednesday.”
