The Santa Bus arrives with free visits for kids, storytelling and a Winter Cafe.
The Greater Grassmarket Business Improvement District (BID) will be home to Santa and his elves, who will arrive in Edinburgh on their magical festive double decker bus. The free Santa Bus will
be in the Grassmarket from Friday 16th – Saturday 24th December to entertain children with storytelling and play.
Santa will be telling stories and spreading Christmas cheer from his festive bus which will be decorated with Christmas sparkle inside and out. Kids can visitSanta and his elves for free while the adults enjoy mulled wine and mince pies from the Winter Café. Families can get their photos taken with Santa, and children can bring Santa their Christmas lists and enjoy playtime with the elves.
This is part of a wider range of free family-friendly Christmas events organised by the Greater Grassmarket BID and is funded by local businesses.
Norrie Stewart, Grassmarket BID Project Manager, said: “We’re excited to welcome Santa and his elves to the Greater Grassmarket and being able to offer families in Edinburgh something different for Christmas with our free storytelling Santa and festive bus. The Greater Grassmarket is a magical area at Christmas with the castle as a backdrop and quirky shops, winding streets and historic pubs and restaurants and enjoy free family-friendly activities, last minute late-night shopping and festive food.”
The Santa Bus is open from Friday 16th – Saturday 24th December from 3pm – 7pm Monday to Friday and 12pm – 6pm Saturday.
