2011_10 Police signs 12

A police investigation is ongoing after a Kirknewton Pharmacy was robbed by two armed men in West Lothian around 4pm yesterday afternoon.

A police helicopter was deployed as officers continue to search the town for the two men who stole cash and other items.

Members of the public chased the men and police have confirmed that no-one was injured during the incident.

Main Street has been closed and is expected to remain so for several hours. No one was injured.

The first suspect is described as wearing a black balaclava, a grey hooded top and a black puffy body warmer.

The second suspect was wearing an Adidas hooded top, black on the bottom half and white on the top with a luminous green zip.

Detective Inspector Paul Batten said: “We are still searching the area for these suspects and are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that can assist us.

“Thankfully no-one was injured during this robbery but this was a terrifying ordeal for the staff.

“We are doing everything we can to find these individuals.

“Anyone who was in the vicinity or who has information that can assist us is asked to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
