Hibs’ Head Coach Neil Lennon says that the players who featured in last week’s Irn-Bru Cup victory over Turriff United have given him food for thought but he revealed that he is unlikely to make too many changes to the starting XI who easily disposed of Morton at Easter Road two weeks ago.

As Hibs go for a fifth straight league victory, Lennon is taking nothing for granted against Dumbarton who took six points from Alan Stubbs’ men last season.

Hibs currently sit on top of the Championship, two points clear of Raith Rovers and Queen of the South and Lennon is determined to open up a gap as he aims for automatic promotion.

Speaking to Hibernian TV Lennon said: “We had good momentum going into the international break and how we react to it will be interesting to see. Players have been rested but some have had a game which was a great run out against Turriff.

“This will be a difficult game. The international break leaves little time to prepare the players for the game but they are all in great condition and there is no complacency around the place.

“We played so well against Morton so we don’t want to make too many changes if at all. They have given me food for thought the player but they have shown me what I already knew.

“Some of them were chomping at the bit to play and they played well and if they don’t play against Dumbarton they will be on call for the game against Ayr United.

“We will prepare for the game as best we can but it’s a game which is fraught with danger.  Dumbarton took six points off us last season so we can’t think we can go there and they will let us do our thing. That’s not going to happen.

“They will be determined to take points off us and we will have to adapt to the weather conditions and the dimensions of the pitch quickly and then the opposition.

“I don’t know what formation they will set up against us as they have set up in different ways this season but I will be concentrating more on us.

“We have to play as we have done in the last three or four games. There has been a real intensity about our play and a physicality as well and we are going to have to match that if Dumbarton come out strongly against us.

“We need to get the ball in the wider areas as we have done and get the ball into the box. It’s all good in theory but we have to go there and earn the right to play.”
