The Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival has a fabulous range of artists from all over the world. The festival takes place at a range of venues from The Studio at 22 Potterrow to  the Festival Theatre. There is a Spiegeltent at George Square and some events will take place at Heriot’s Rugby Club and others in the Grassmarket.

There are free events on 16 and 17 July with the Mardi Gras in the Grassmarket on Saturday 16 July turning the area into the biggest street party with several stages for the music which will wow you. The acts confirmed include Criterion Brass Band, St Aidan’s Swing Band, James Brown Is Annie, Rosie Nimmo and Stuart Allardyce, Jamboree, Charlotte Marshall & the 45s.

On 17 July it is time for the Festival Carnival which will start from The Mound and will process along Princes Street to the West End. There will be performances in Princes Street Gardens and in the Grassmarket all afternoon with over 700 carnival performers expected to take part.
