Livingston Tony Macaroni arena

Marvin Bartley insists that Hibs will not be taking Livingston lightly at the Tony Macaroni Arena tomorrow evening in a game that will be shown live on BBC Alba.

The midfielder won praise from the supporters following his ‘man of the match’ performance against Hearts at Tynecastle last Sunday but his mind is now focussed on the Championship and he believes David Hopkins’ side find themselves in a false league position.

Hibs have faced Livingston twice this season, winning both matches by a margin of a single goal, and ‘The Bartman’ is adamant that the side will be approaching the game in the right manner.

Speaking to Hibs TV, the midfielder said: “I think they’ve been decent, especially at their place. It was a tough game, they had a gameplan and stuck to it. I’m surprised they are so low in the table if I’m honest. We’ll be taking nothing for granted.

“We know they are a team that are capable and some people say that the league table doesn’t lie, but I think they are in a false position because they are a little bit better than their league position at this moment in time.

“Every game is tough because whoever you play, they are looking for three points. If you are the bottom of the league you are trying to get away from there and if you are in the middle you are looking to catch the top three team.

“We aim to put in a professional performance and get the three points.

“Livingston will be trying to catch us cold maybe looking forward to Tuesday but we have guard against that.

“It was good to be back in the team last Sunday getting a decent result so I was happy. everyone wants to play, it’s that simple but it’s been frustrating not playing and hard to take but it was great to get back out there at the weekend and put in a performance that I can be proud of.

“That was the icing on the cake but when you put on the jersey for a club this size every game is a big game but last week was a special one and I enjoyed it.

“I give my all in every game and sometimes things come off for you and sometimes they don’t but I won’t ever fail from a lack of effort. I always give 100%
