Hibernian have confirmed the signing of Kevin Thomson on a deal until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old midfielder former Scotland internationalist becomes Hibs’ second signing of the week following the capture of striker Anthony Stokes on Tuesday.
This is Thomson’s third spell at the Club, having started his career at Easter Road and returning between 2013 and 2014, and he will combine his playing duties with coaching the development squads under Eddie May.
Head Coach Alan Stubbs said: “We’re very happy to have Kevin join the squad.
“Both Kevin and Anthony have won league and cup medals, and that experience will be important in the run in.
“He’ll also be a strong addition to Eddie’s coaching staff – I’m sure the kids coming through will pick up a lot from Kevin.
“I’ve got to thank the supporters, as well as the board, for their backing – there’s a very positive feeling about the place just now and we’re doing everything we can to get back to the Premiership.
“The supporters have a lot to be excited about, and hopefully they can show their support in numbers at Easter Road on Saturday and for the remainder of the season.”
Thomson goes into the squad for tomorrow’s match with St Mirren, wearing the number 30 jersey.
