Edinburgh Castle silk scarf - 2

With only so many shopping days left before Christmas, the largest operator of visitor attractions in Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, has launched its first ever Christmas gift collection online.

The new online festive experience hopes to put the fun back into Christmas shopping this season. Showcasing a selected range of items and products from Scottish suppliers and craftspeople, as well as those from further afield, shoppers can search for unique gift ideas and gain inspiration from specially themed categories.

Available from historic-scotland.gov.uk/shop customers can explore and pick up the perfect presents for all the family, even including the family pet. ‘Gift-spiration’ awaits for customers as they can view present ideas by themed festive categories including Traditional, Highland and Mary Christmas, which draws inspiration from one of Scotland’s most iconic historical figures – Mary Queen of Scots.

Head of Retail at Historic Environment Scotland, Natasha Troitino, said: “This is an exciting first for our online shop and new for this year’s holiday season. It also builds on and compliments our in-shop Christmas retail ranges.

“With the countdown on until the big day itself, our online Christmas experience provides shoppers, who perhaps want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, with the perfect opportunity to explore and discover a wide range of gifts, all in a few easy clicks.”

Customers can click their way through gift ideas from clothes and accessories including an exclusive silk scarf, depicting Edinburgh Castle in a contemporary watercolour painted design, to fine Scottish fare including a range of award-winning Scotch Whisky sauces and seasonings, including whisky and heather salt flakes.

The online Christmas collection also includes special snow globes capturing one of the world’s most iconic attractions, Edinburgh Castle, individually unique recycled wool throws, which are woven in the Scottish Borders, to a limited edition cuddly bear toy. With only 1,500 made, each exclusive bear comes labelled with its own number and comes in a fabric presentation bag.

Not to be left out, there’s even a gift for the four-legged members of the family with a tweed bow tie dog collar, which is available in a choice of colours.

Natasha continued: “We’ve worked closely with suppliers to develop and select a wide range of unique products and present ideas as part of this new online Christmas shop. Customers can search for the perfect present with our themed categories and choose from ranges and items that have been exclusively created for us, to limited edition toys, festive fare and stocking fillers – there’s something for everyone.”
