There is a new coffee house on George Street and we are excited by it. There are a couple of wee tables outside for sunny days, and a selection of tables of different sizes inside. Daily newspapers float around the largest of these which would be perfect for a business meeting or lunch.

Opened last week it is run by the same Des McDonald who is in charge of the Printing Press next door and coffee is provided by Caravan Coffee Roasters.

Although all staff are said to be qualified baristas this is only the second week of operation and some are clearly still finding their feet. But when we asked, one of the staff offered very knowledgable advice on which coffee to try next time!

Burr & Co does not just serve coffee though it does that pretty well, there are pastries, sandwiches, toasties and freshly made snacks. This week they are serving Pumpkin and ricotta muffins for Halloween.
