Up to £30,000 worth of handbags were stolen from Handbag Heaven in Howe Street during a break-in which happened at around 0215 hours on Friday.

Detective Constable Sheila Silvagni of Police Scotland, Gayfield CID said “Police Officers were on the scene within a minute however the thieves had left with around 85 bags, estimated to be worth between £20,000 and £30,000.  Three men are believed to be responsible and left in what is only described as a small silver coloured vehicle.  There are no descriptions of the three men at this stage.  Anyone who can help should call Police Scotland on 101.
