Morro and Jasp do Puberty. Gilded Balloon Teviot (Venue 14)
Aug 5 – 31 (not 17). 20:00 (60 mins)
A hilarious look at the best period of your life. Canada’s “crowned queens of clown”, sisters Morro and Jasp are at that age where the hormones are always flaring, the telephone keeps ringing, and the punk rock can never be too loud. As Morro attempts to hide from feminine hygiene products, Jasp longs for womanhood and the boy of her dreams. This smash hit explores the trials and tribulations of growing up. Aug 5 – 31 (not 12, 19, 26). 18:30 (60 mins)
Anthropology graduate Joanie Little is stuck working as a barista. Much like Jane Goodall did with chimpanzees, this upbeat Miss studies her available subjects: the customers of her coffeeshop ’jungle’… hilarity ensues! http://www.redheadedcsg.com
In Case We Disappear. Laughing Horse @ Moriarty’s (Venue 332)
Aug 6 – 30 (not 12, 20). 21:15 (60 mins)
Whimsical and entertaining, Canadian artist Vanessa Smythe blends comedy, poetry, and music to tell tales of accidental booty calls and begrudged family hugs. In Case We Disappear starts as a simple ploy to put her baby brother to sleep, then evolves through word and song, becoming a theatrical love letter to us all. Think Flight of the Conchords, and turn up the earnest. . http://www.vanessasmythe.com

Nymphomania. Liquid Room Annexe | PBH’s Free Fringe (Venue 276)
Aug 8 – 30 (not 12, 18, 24, 26). 17:55 (55 mins)
Nymphomania is a hilarious, smart, one woman show that has toured the world – a saucy expose of Ms. Dallas’ wild and wicked life as she has survived her affliction, Nymphomania. The show details her journey from her 7 year old self discovering Playboy, to her sharing a joint with Jack Nicholson, to her sexual adventures in tents, hearses and car parks. She throws open her life with abandon and honesty, and brings you on a trip that is fierce, funny, feminist and poignant. The Muted Note Duo: Dances and Songs based on poems by P K Page.
C Venues – C Nova (Venue 145). Aug 10 – 22. 16:55 (50 mins)
An intimate stage work that synthesises poetry, music, and dance, with P K Page’s brilliant verse at its core. Drawing on the fundamental ways that words, music, and dance have been combined throughout history. A novel approach to thematic improvisation in dance and music, bringing Page’s rich poetic images to life. A delightful, sensual homage to one of Canada’s literary treasures who, in a sense, was always singing and dancing with wonder as she relished the world around her. http://www.susannahood.com
