During the course of ’Ernest; or Much Ado About Muffins’ (which is on at C cubed, Riddle’s Court as part of Edinburgh Fringe), Algernon Moncrieff (played by Simon Kingsley) playfully throws a muffin to Jack Worthing (played by Tom Dawkins).
Tom normally catches the muffin but in a recent performance he suffered a momentary lapse in concentration and caught the muffin full in the face. The muffin tray went within millimetres of his eye but although there was bruising of the cheek, thankfully the retina remained untouched. Tom can now see himself through to some more performances of ’Ernest; or Much Ado About Muffins’ and will doubtless be more vigilant with respect to airborne bakery.
Ernest or Much Ado About Muffins is on at 11:45am at C cubed, Riddle’s Court, 322 Lawnmarket. It runs until 25th August.
