Huxley, a four month old, golden retriever guide dog puppy in training, has lovingly been named after his proud sponsors, The Huxley, Edinburgh.  The fluffy pup will officially start off the Great Edinburgh Santa Fun Run & Walk alongside the Stockbridge and Edinburgh Postal Pipeband for the Walk around Princes Street Gardens dressed as Santa.

All funds raised from The Great Edinburgh Santa Fun Run goes to ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’, a charity which aims to grant the wishes of children throughout Scotland suffering from life-threatening illnesses by sending a group of brave children to Lapland to meet Santa and enjoy a traditional sleigh ride with Rudolph and his friends.

Starting at 11am, Scotland’s fundraising Santa’s will run, walk and stroll around West Princes Street Gardens, which is spread over a short 2km circuit.  You don’t have to be a runner to take part, the route is accessible to wheelchairs and mobility scooters, children in push chairs and dogs on leads are allowed.

All dogs are encouraged to dress up as Santa with Huxley presenting the honour of “Best Dressed Dog” on the day with a special prize – a Dog Treat Stocking, perhaps with some Kyloe treats thrown in.

Huxley comments:- “I’d be barking mad to miss this run as four paws are better than two, I only hope my rabbit friends don’t try to distract me in the gardens!”

As well as “Best Dressed Dog”, The Huxley, Edinburgh are also donating the prize for “Best Dressed Buggy” –Lunch for 4 in The Huxley, Edinburgh, with children eating from the Mini Me-Nu.

Make your cheeks extra rosy before the Santa Run on Sun 8th Dec at The Huxley, Edinburgh.  They are offering take away coffees to anyone dressed as Santa for a jolly discounted price of £1.50.  Doors open from 8am.

The Huxley, Edinburgh is the perfect place for the Santa After Party, anyone participating in the run can get a burger and beer for £7 that day.
