The Porty Light Box was officially launched last night with an exhibition entitled Beach Delights by local artist Marion Preez.

The Light Box is a community-owned exhibition space and art gallery created out of a lovingly-restored K6 telephone box on the corner of Portobello High Street and Bellfield Street, just a few hundred yards from Portobello Baths and the Promenade.

The launch was part of the Christmas Crawl, a late night shopping and entertainment event organised by local retailers and business owners in Portobello.

Hundreds of visitors and locals took part in the evening, which included Towerbank Primary School choir singing outside the Town Hall, a Low Def Film Show at the Skylark and loads of things to taste and stuff to try.
