Prepare to fall in love all over again…

In 2009, Dyad Productions scored a palpable hit at the Edinburgh Fringe with Rebecca Vaughan’s ’Austen’s Women’, in which solo performer Vaughan brought to life 13 of literature’s most fascinating female characters under the direction of Fringe legend Guy Masterson.

This much-loved Edinburgh 2009 sell-out hit returns for a special limited run this Fringe as Rebecca Vaughan becomes Emma Woodhouse, Lizzy Bennet, Mrs Norris, Miss Bates and nine other beautifully observed women in critical moments from Austen’s major novels (including ’Pride and Prejudice’, ’Sense and Sensibility’ and ’Emma’) and lesser known or unfinished works.

’Austen’s Women’ was the first ever production from Rebecca Vaughan and Elton Townend Jones’ Dyad, which has since created ’I, Elizabeth’, ’The Diaries of Adam and Eve’ and ’Female Gothic’ – all of which continue to successfully tour both nationally and internationally. Their latest work, ’The Unremarkable Death of Marilyn Monroe’, premieres at Edinburgh this year. Both plays are staged at Dyad’s spiritual home in Assembly, George Square (Venue Three).

Edinburgh stalwart Dyad Productions has gone from strength to strength since 2009 with all five of its production garnering 5-star reviews. Female Gothic was awarded 4-stars by The Scotsman, while The Diaries of Adam and Eve was published in early 2013. Dyad founders Rebecca Vaughan and Elton Townend Jones have performed their work in places as diverse as Adelaide and Kansas City and continue to tour extensively, with all five Dyad productions taking to the road in 2014.
