Lothian and Borders Police have  confirmed the identity of an elderly woman who died following a road collision in Edinburgh last week.

She is 81-year-old Mary Dawson from Argyle Park Terrace.

Mrs Dawson was crossing the road outside the Anne Ferguson Building of the Western General Hospital at around 4pm on Tuesday 4th December when she was involved in a collision with a Skoda Superb car.

She was treated at the scene, but sadly, died as a result of her injuries.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident and anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and can assist officers with their enquiries is asked to come forward.
