Now that the Diamond Jubilee celebrations have come to an end, it seems it is time to prepare for the next event in sight: the 2012 London Olympics.
Despite previous controversy, the five Olympic Rings are finally taking pride of place on The Mound today, and should be illuminated at night. Their arrival precedes the arrival of the Olympic Torch relay through Edinburgh on 13-14 June. Read more about the Olympic party being hosted at the Castle here.
