A passer -by at Silverknowes on the shores of the Forth reported to the Coastguard this afternoon that a windsurfer and a kite surfer were in difficulties in extremely hazardous conditions.
The RNLI Queensferry with a crew of Derek Sutton, Mike Garfitt and Mike Crawford launched at 4.22pm. and made their way to Silverknowes in a force 7 north easterly wind and a four metre swell. They located the windsurfer and kite surfer struggling to get ashore.
They were in shallow water, so the Lifeboat stood off and remained on station until the pair made it safely to the shore where they were met by the Coastguard.
