Hard Rock Rising 2012 was essentially a battle of the bands competition run at the restaurant on George Street.
It featured 11 bands from all over Scotland and the winner then goes onto a global competition. Whoever wins that will be a support act for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Hard Rock Calling in London’s Hyde Park this July. So this was important for the up and coming acts.
The heats took place Monday 19th, Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st March with the final on the Thursday 22nd March.
After some great heats the final was fought out between Both Barrels, Estrella and The Asps, with The Asps coming out eventual winners of the competition.
Voting for the next stage opens on 9 April 2012 on Hard Rock Edinburghs Facebook page. Let’s all get behind the Asps and get them to Hard Rock Calling where they may be on the same bill as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band if they win!
