Lothian Buses are running a Saturday service on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Bin Collections are running as normal over the Easter Weekend according to the Council website.

Looking for something to do this holiday weekend? Well there is the Edinburgh International Science Festival at various venues. Our photo today is of the Catalytic Clothing designed in conjunction with 21st Century Kilts which may reduce emissions… You can read more on the Science Festival website. Unfortunately they seem to have missed sending us any news of their events this year, so the talk has already taken place, but you can still see the exhibition in St Andrew Square.

If you are into House music then Hed Kandi are appearing at Mood tonight. Alternatively South Pacific continues at The Playhouse, The Muppets is showing this afternoon at 15.20 at The Filmhouse and if the rain ever goes off you could go for a walk in The Botanics snap a photo or two and take part in their photography competition which ends on 31 May 2012. Loads to do! If you know of something that our readers might like to get along to then do add it in the comments box below.

The London Olympics 2012 are not without their controversies, and one of those was the plan to erect a set of Olympic rings at Edinburgh Castle. This was vetoed, but the council has agreed that there will be an evening of celebrations here on 13 June. In order to provide adequate seating for the event, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has agreed to put up their stands six weeks early according to The Scotsman.  The stands will then lie empty for a month until the much anticipated shows by Olly Murs and Noel Gallagher. Now we think it might be a good idea to use them for some kind of shows that might not otherwise get to use such a venue… How about it Edinburgh? What do you think? A Battle of the Bands? Choirs? Orchestras? We wonder what Historic Scotland who run the Castle might allow?
