An open community event is being held next Saturday 18 February 2012 for local people to map out their own vision for the development of the canalside area of Fountainbridge.
The event is titled ‘Brewing new Life’ and is being organised the Fountainbridge Canalside Initiative, a group made up of local people who want the community to get the best possible outcome from the development of the former brewery site.
The day will offer opportunities to see plans of what is already proposed for parts of the site, discussion of the potential for community-led initiatives, and a guided walk of the area.

Edinburgh Airport is up for sale. The Scotsman reports that there are now only four prospective bidders for the travel hub. Notable names in the frame include Sir Brian Souter, Noble Grossart and Richard Jeffrey, formerly managing director of the airport, and latterly of the tram company, tie.

Speaking of trams, and who isn’t, the Edinburgh Trams Project has not issued many updates in recent months and we are rather left wondering what is happening and we are sure you are too. Anyway here is their latest update which is all in photos. We suppose that is on the basis of a picture being worth a thousand words…

The Scottish Episcopal Church has elected a new Bishop for the Diocese of Edinburgh. The Very Rev Dr John Armes is currently rector of St John the Evangelist Church, Princes Street, and Dean of the Diocese of Edinburgh.
