Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh’s five-star visitor attraction, is set to welcome a piece of the Arctic this half-term, with an interactive exhibit on the awe-inspiring Greenland ice sheet.

On Thin Ice, run by the Cryosphere Research Group from the University of Edinburgh’s School of GeoSciences, will provide visitors with a unique insight into the world of Arctic scientists.  Visitors will learn about the cutting edge research being carried out on Greenland’s melting ice sheet and how it is responding to climate change.  Through a variety of visual and hands-on displays, interactive activities and discussion groups, the experts will bring to life the realities of researching one of Earth’s natural wonders.  The exhibit will run at Dynamic Earth for four days from Tuesday 18 October.

Commenting on the October attraction, Eilidh Massie, marketing manager of Dynamic Earth said: “The Greenland exhibit offers a fascinating insight into the stunning Arctic landscape and the scientists’ knowledge and stories from expeditions will be thoroughly entertaining.  We always look to provide our visitors with an exciting and engaging experience at Dynamic Earth and our friends from the Cryosphere Research Group will help make it a memorable day out.”

Also this month, Dynamic Earth is offering to upgrade all day tickets to an Annual Explorer Pass which entitles holders to free entry at the attraction for an entire year.  For more information and the necessary upgrade voucher, visit www.dynamicearth.co.uk.  Offer ends Monday 31 October 2011.
