There are a couple of protests arranged in the city centre today so you should be aware of these if you are in the city centre.

The first is at St Andrew Square where there is a protest camp set up by Occupy Edinburgh. It has been there since 15 October and today they are having Family Events. There is a video of the first day of the occupation on The Journal website.

The second is the Hardest Hit  rally which is being organised by disabled people protesting against benefit cuts. It is part of a day of protests being organised across the UK.

Problems arising between the council and cab drivers are highlighted by The Edinburgh Evening News. Taxi fares have not risen for 3 years but look set to rise next week.

As we told you earlier in the week, Edinburgh City are fielding their new signing, Russell Latapy, today for their match against Irvine Meadow.

A 65 year-old driver has been charged with various offences following the road collision on Tuesday night when a 36 year-old woman died, according to The Press Association.
