Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for witnesses after a door steward was seriously assaulted outside a bar on Queen Street, Edinburgh.
The 28-year-old man was working outside Brambles about 00.45am on Sunday 24th July when three men approached him. The men then got into an argument with him, which resulted in one of the men punching him and knocking him unconscious. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for a broken jaw – he has now been released from hospital.
The suspect is described as being white, in his 30-35-years-old with fair hair. He was wearing a light blue top and dark trousers. One of the other men was the same age of stocky build with short dark hair and a dark shirt.
A police spokesperson said: “This has been a violent attack on a door steward in an area that would have been quite busy with revellers at the time.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened, or who recognises the description of the suspect, to contact police on 0131 311 3131.”
Anyone with information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or the charity Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
