Under radiant skies and tight security, the Royal wedding took place over the weekend in the Canongate Kirk. However many of the crowd were left a little disappointed by the mode of transport which prevented many of them seeing the Royal Family through partially reflective car windows.
People had come far and wide to see the event but quite a few questions were asked after each car passed as to who was inside! The Edinburgh Reporter had to enlarge some of the photos to show members of the public which member of the Royal Family had just passed. There was a general feeling among the crowd that the cars passed by too quickly for people to see who was in them.
Having said that, some important figures, such as the Duchess of Cornwall waving, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen were recognised by the crowd to much cheering. Many people left after the procession to the kirk happy that they had seen all that there actually was to see.
