A stunning new showhome with interiors by Amabile Design has been launched at Walker Group’s Hazelbrooke development at Kirkliston, less than ten miles from Edinburgh city centre.

Located off Queensferry Road on the edge of the village, Hazelbrooke offers a choice of three, four and five bedroom villas and features six new styles designed exclusively for Hazelbrooke with prices from ÂŁ185,000.
Amabile Design is one of the country’s leading interior design companies and was co-founded by Carol Yates and John Amabile, who is best known for television shows such as Better Homes and 60 Minute Makeover.
Carol, who has more than 20 years of experience in interior design, explained the inspiration behind the stunning Gladstone four bedroom showhome.

She said:- “We wanted to go for something very light, airy and summery. The lounge for example has a slightly Mediterranean feel with lots of silver, cream and grey, with hints of the palest powder blue. We have added lots of interesting layers and textures with velvet cushions, voiles and silk curtains at the windows. Dark wood furniture provides a contrast with all the pale tones, giving the room a very chic and elegant look.”

A contemporary fireplace and restful sea scenes in blues and greens, complete the décor of this pretty lounge.

In the open plan kitchen/dining/family room which is at the heart of this beautiful property, Amabile Design has opted for an ethnic look with stripey Zebrano wood effect kitchen units  and cream L-shaped sofas with cushions with a zebra print and an unusual cowhide coffee table. The dining area has a beautiful walnut table with cream chairs.

The impressive master bedroom echoes the airy feel of the lounge with lots of silks, creams, silvers and white washed furniture. The stunning feature wallpaper adds boutique hotel luxury to this tranquil room.

The bright second bedroom is every bit as glamorous as the master bedroom and has a hint of oriental charm, with black and mirrored glass bedside cabinets.  Palest ochre wallpaper gives the room a bright sunny feel and is teamed up with a grey velvet headboard and bedcovers in palette of greys, white and lime greens, featuring a bold Missoni-inspired zig-zag design.

The funky retro boy’s room pays homage to the Big Apple with New York skyline cushions and artwork, while the girl’s bedroom has a charming vintage feel with rose patterned curtains, a striking heart shaped polka dot headboard, delicate French furniture and a heart shaped Venetian style glass mirror.  Carol added: “We wanted to design a girl’s room that was pretty but not overly pink and sugary sweet.”

Sandy Casey, Sales and Marketing Director at Walker Group, said: “Carol and John have done a wonderful job on the interiors of the showhome and the reaction from visitors has just been amazing.

“Their inviting furnishings and wallcoverings perfectly showcase the generous proportions of the public rooms and the bedrooms are the ultimate in luxury. After spending five minutes in this beautiful showhome all your stress melts away as it is such a calm, restful space.”

Hazelbrooke is surrounded by rolling farmland and woods with views of the Pentland Hills.   The development benefits from the charm of a village community and is within walking distance of the nursery and primary school.  However, its close proximity to Edinburgh means that the Gyle shopping Centre is close by as well as the amenities of the capital.   For outdoor enthusiasts there are a wealth of golf courses on the doorstep and Ratho Climbing Centre is less than a ten minute drive.

The show home is open 11am to 5.30pm and further details are available by contacting the Head Office on 01506 413101 or by visiting the website, www.walkergroup.co.uk
