The first round of ticket sales to the spectacular Virgin Money Fireworks Concert – the unmissable finale of Edinburgh International Festival 2011 performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra – closes on Saturday 30th April 2011.
This year, the largest and most spectacular fireworks concert in the world will be choreographed to fiery and passionate music from family favourite Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, Glière’s The Red Poppy and Borodin’s Prince Igor, played live by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Garry Walker. Fireworks masters Pyrovision will light up the sky with a new display launched from Edinburgh’s iconic Castle.
This year’s Virgin Money Fireworks Concert takes place on Sunday 4 September at 9.00pm. Tickets for seats in the Ross Bandstand are sold out, but tickets to Princes Street Gardens are still available.
Ticket holders for Princes Street Gardens join the thousands that gather there annually for the fantastic views of the display, including the famous fireworks waterfall down Castle Rock, the opportunity to experience the Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s performance, and to enjoy an evening under the stars and star bursts with picnics, family and friends.
For those who miss out on the first allocation there are two more opportunities to buy Princes Street Gardens tickets for the Virgin Money Fireworks Concert. A second allocation will be released on 18 July and the final opportunity will be a limited number of tickets held until 10.00am the day before the event, Saturday 3 September.
