The Council Leader Jenny Dawe said that North Edinburgh News should have known that it was about to come to a bitter end, according to STV. Jenny Dawe  has approved the continued expense of Outlook, a council-run newspaper, which has been criticised in the past as only telling good news stories about the council. The council did not use the opportunity of stopping the newspaper when making budget cuts recently.
