Edinburgh musicians Withered Hand and Unicorn Kid will showcase in Austin, Texas at at South by Southwest (SxSW), the annual Music, Film and Interactive Festival.
More than a dozen bands, six films and an interactive media project from Scotland will showcase at the festival. Attended by thousands of artists and industry moguls from across the globe, SxSW is the biggest event in the industry calendar.
A dynamic Scottish presence will be supported by investment from Creative Scotland, which will be promoting the strength of Scotland’s talent, skills, screen and creative industries.
Taking place from the 11 – 20 March 2011, SxSW celebrates the best musical talent from around the world on ninety stages, and features established and emerging film talent in a diverse programme of documentaries, comedies, shorts, animation and much more. The Interactive element of the festival features five days of compelling presentations from the brightest minds in emerging technology, workshops and seminars and scores of exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders, alongside a lively trade fare.
