Kakao by K, a small fashion boutique located in Edinburgh city centre specialising in women’s fashion and accessories, will be hosting an exciting event in celebration of Valentine’s Day (which is now imminent in case you had not already noticed). They will be working with a local artist, Asta Petkunatite, and will be hosting an exhibition of her latest collection entitled ‘Love Game’. The collection is based around love and the dating game, the thrill of the chase, the joy of finding love and of keeping it.
Asta is a Lithuanian artist based in Edinburgh and her paintings are a narrative of life stories, often shown in quirky or at times hypnotic manners. She exhibited at The Red Door gallery in 2006, at GO REBORN and Noir! in 2009, and for the past year she has been working on a number of private commissions.
To complement her artwork, Kakao by K will be unveiling new pieces of jewellery which will represent the stories and themes being conveyed by the artwork. The jewellery comes from Design by K, their own brand of contemporary jewellery.
The exhibition is being held in the Kakao by K store on Thistle Street, on Thursday 10th of February 2011, between 7.00pm and 8.30pm. However the store is open between 10am and 7pm that day, so early birds are welcome. And they promise that treats and bubbly will be provided!
