The Caledonian Mercury run by former Scotsman dot com editor, Stewart Kirkpatrick, is asking for donations on its site, to keep its journalism alive. The Princess Royal

The Princess Royal is in town today – hence the heavy police presence. She will attend a Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration at St. Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh; and subsequently will attend a Reception at Signet Library, 11 Parliament Square, Edinburgh; and afterwards will attend a Dinner at New Club Edinburgh, 86 Princes Street, Edinburgh. Tomorrow she will be at the Save the Children shop in Stockbridge and she is officially opening the renovated part of The Royal Scots Club.

As you know we are always on the hunt for places with free wifi. Today we found a new one. Here is Captain Taylor’s Coffee House on South Bridge. Free wifi – great coffee. Read our article on the official opening of the social enterprise.
