This is the perfect spot to chill or catch up with friends. The ambience in Amorist strikes a fine balance between cosy and lively, making it ideal for a snack with a friend or a group gathering.

Décor is “wild” with peacock wallpaper (a nod to the peacocks in Pittencrieff Park) and hanging plants on the walls, with a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at your ease.

The beverage selection is impressive, with everything from coffees and teas, to freshly made cocktails and an extensive selection of wines to quaff along with the food. For those feeling peckish, the menu has a selection of sandwiches, paninis and wraps.

For more substantial meals there are burgers and more traditional main courses on the menu including fish and chips and macaroni cheese, all prepared with fresh, quality ingredients.

Service at Amorist is attentive without being “over the top”. It was surprising, however, that we were not asked about allergies. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the central location, making this café bar an excellent choice for both casual lunch time outings or a team night out. There is live music on Saturday evening.

Overall, Amorist stands out for its welcoming vibe, extensive menu, excellent drinks, and friendly service.

Whether you’re in the mood for a full meal or a snack, for a morning coffee or an evening cocktail, you’ll find something to suit your tastes. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy an upbeat, enjoyable experience in the heart of the city.
