It is a case of one out and two in at Fife Flyers. Vlastimil Dostalek has left Flyers by mutual consent to pursue an opportunity in Europe and both parties agreed it was the right moment for the 31-year-old Czech- born winger to depart.
David Booth and Milan Lucic, two former National Hockey League players, are in Scotland awaiting work visas. They will hopefully come through this week.
Dostalek played around 20 games for Fife who lost 5-4 after overtime at Glasgow Clan on Friday and more than 2,100 fans saw Fife lose 2-1 at home to Clan in Saturday with both teams having 32 shots. Booth and Lucic watched the action then signed autographs and chatted to fans.
It was 1-1 after the first, but Clan edged the home side 1-0 in the second. The third was blanked.
Brady Risk opened the scoring after 3min 02sec for Clan and Flyers’ Josh Winquist levelled on 15min 05 sec.
Clan edged ahead when Deven Sideroff netted 50 seconds the end of the second session.
Flyers called a timeout late-on, and withdrew reminder Shane Owen, but they failed to breakthrough, however, head coach, Jamie Russell, was pleased with the performance, believing that his men brushed up on a number of issues.
Justin Ducharme returned from injury at the weekend and Russell was pleased with his contribution after a long lay-off.
Now the squad prepare for a trip to Belfast Giants on Friday.
