The pool in Portobello is still closed almost two weeks on.
Edinburgh Leisure which runs Portobello Swim Centre has issued an update both about the pool which requires essential maintenance and the Turkish Baths which will be closed “for several months”.
An Edinburgh Leisure spokesperson said: “Essential maintenance work is now underway at Portobello Swim Centre following the temporary closure of the venue.
“This is an important step towards reopening the centre, and our teams are working alongside specialist contractors to get the venue back up and running as soon as it’s safe to do so.
“We also expect the Main Pool to be back in use when the venue reopens, following its prolonged closure over the summer. We’ll continue to monitor the pool closely and there may be occasional short-term closures if further maintenance is needed.
“Unfortunately, the Turkish Baths are expected to remain closed for several months while further assessment and repair work takes place.
“We’d like to thank everyone affected by the closure for their patience while this work continues. We’ll share further updates as more information becomes available.”
