Detectives are appealing for information following a suspicious car fire in West Lothian.
Around 9.45pm on Tuesday, 25 August, 2026, officers received a report a white Jeep Avenger had been deliberately set on fire on Philip Avenue, Bathgate. A red Peugeot 2008 was also damaged in the incident.
Emergency services attended and the fire was put out. No-one was injured.
Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage and carrying out door-to-door enquiries for any additional information.
Detective Constable Comrie said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area that evening who may have noticed something out of the ordinary, did you see anyone acting suspiciously?
“I would also ask motorists with dash-cam and anyone with doorbell recording equipment to check their footage for any images which could assist our investigation. Any small piece of information could prove significant.”
