Lismore rugby club will be celebrating a 125th anniversary this season with a milestone dinner on 3 October at Surgeon’s Hall.
Guest speakers will be former Scotland and Lions prop Iain “the Bear” Milne and Lee Cockburn, a pioneer of the women’s game who turned out in Scotland’s inaugural women’s international against Ireland in 1993. A retired police officer, Lee is a published crime author.
On the playing field it is pretty much “same again” with Leon Kiteley and Louise Ferguson continuing as men’s and women’s team captains.
There is, however, a change of club captain with Bert Anderson replacing Kim James.
Head coach is Jamie Barclay and he will have the backing of Adam Croy (strength and conditioning), Mark Lane, Demi Brooks, Alex Pearson and Matt Wicks.
Remaining as president is Ali Barclay backed up by Jamie Barclay and Mike “Tug” Wilson.
Lismore kick off their East Division Three campaign at Edinburgh University Medics on Saturday, 5 September.
